BBC Proms - "Sondheim at 80"
On Saturday 31st July Leonie performed at The Royal Albert Hall as part of an 80 strong chorus of musical theatre students who have received support from the BBC Performing Arts Fund. The Prom was held to celebrate the 80th birthday of legendary Musical Theatre composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim who attended the concert. It was broadcast live on Radio 3 and also shown the same night on BBC Two.

Leonie auditioned in London for a BBC Bursary on the 26th July 2008 at R.A.D.A. in London. She was successful and received £3,000 towards her fees. She attended a residential weekend organised by the BBC on the 4th and 5th of October 2008 in London and was also invited to join the chorus for the BBC prom "Sondheim at 80".
