The audition included an assessment for a scholarship to the Academy (Dance and Drama Award - D.A.D.A) which, at the time, was awarded to approximately 60% of the students on the course. Unfortunately Leonie didn't win a D.A.D.A and elected to defer starting the course until September 2008. She worked full time since the autumn of 2007 to raise money towards her fees and unfortunately was unsuccessful in auditioning for a Dance and Drama Award in May 2008.

Shows in 2008 have been "Jack and the Beanstalk" at Potterne Pantomime in which she played Jill and "The Secret Garden" with T.A.O.S in which she played Martha. In July Potterne Pantomime staged a "Benefit Show" over two nights and her last show before starting at Mountview was "Tick... Tick... Boom!" at The Egg, Theatre Royal, Bath.

Leonie started her course at Mountview on the 22nd of September.
